mysql- workbench struct invalid error (no replies)

I'm creating a DB in lubuntu 64 bit machine. in the workbench when i try to open existing EER model *.mwd it throws an error

Error unserializing GRT data
error unserializing object (invalid struct)

the same file works fine on windows . Please suggest.
